Alcohol Support Worker

You’ll play an important role in the delivery of our alcohol treatment service by actively engaging with individuals with alcohol misuse issues in Kirklees. Taking a positive, enabling approach, you’ll develop support plans, support Service Users around detox programmes and provide practical and social support to alcohol misusers in the Kirklees area. You’ll also deal with enquiries to the service, complete initial assessments and maintain accurate client records.

With a proven track record in a similar role, you should already have a good understanding of current models of intervention, knowledge of how alcohol can affect service users’ physical and mental wellbeing and experience of assessing and planning support. A collaborative, client-focused approach is essential too, as is a commitment to client independence, lots of enthusiasm and excellent communication skills. If you also have the flexibility to work on an outreach basis throughout the Kirklees area, you’ll help us make a real difference to the lives of people with alcohol support needs.
