Z-drugs on the RADAR

feature1 image
Lifeline has periodically been running a type of early warning research called RADAR.  Last year we adapted this research method and piloted a version that attempted to find out what our services are actually seeing.  One of the issues that was highlighted was the injection of zopiclone and other (so called) z-drugs in the north east of England.  This led us to do a dedicated RADAR report with local agencies and to develop a leaflet aimed at users in the North East.  We are now able to release this information and make the report and leaflet available as downloads for those who may be experiencing similar situations or are just plain interested in the subject.

The Strategic Isolation of the Drugs Field
"We have grown adjacent to, but in relative isolation, from other key health and social care sectors. Responding faithfully to a strong national lead, our centre of gravity has moved steadily and ever closer towards the Criminal Justice Sector. This movement has enabled the field to grow and prosper, but it has also served both to isolate us strategically and programmatically from key transformations at local level..."
